CONNECTICUT

“I love to create images that have life and movement using color and texture.”

Jeanette Vertentes is a contemporary painter known for her large-scale colorful paintings. Living in North Stonington, CT, close to the sea, where she is surrounded by her dogs and gardens, her vivid creations pay homage to the place she calls home.

In each painting, you can see Jeanette’s distinctive style and vibrant spirit. Picturesque landscapes, beautiful seascapes, floral still lives, animals and farm fields are all brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors, movement and bold compositions.

As a child, Jeanette trained under the painter John Lutes. “From a young age, I believed that you can create anything once you see it in your mind.” She earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in painting from Rhode Island College where she studied color theory and composition.

Today you will find Jeanette either painting in her studio or at the country’s finest art shows throughout the spring and summer, teaching throughout the winter and working on numerous commissions for a worldwide audience.
